My teaching partner did an activity today with my kids making sentences using conversations hearts. After they got started she realized the hearts she bought were not what she thought. Here's my favorite sentence.
Yep, they were Spanish! There were English hearts in there too, but that was a fun surprise. The sweetie pie above thought her sentence said "Jaguars can climb." I love it!
And these were my two favorite Valentines.
Super cute frame and yum yum yummy Krispy Kreme's. What a day!

Spanish! I would have loved it! I have a high Hispanic population~ that would have really got them going :)

I bought the Spanish version by a mistake one year, too. Except, I had bought 24 boxes of them! Geez, talk about an unobservant shopper! Luckily, my ESOL teacher quickly helped me translate the hearts and create a lesson for them (on the fly.) Now, I make sure to take a good look at which hearts I'm buying!
ReplyDeleteI bought a bag of spanish ones this year too. I had no idea and I had actually bought them to use in a decoration at my house. I decided to bring them to school and use for measurement. That's when I noticed I couldn't read what they said. It cracked me up.
ReplyDeleteWe also have many kids who speak spanish, so some of them actually used them and wrote spanish sentences. I was very impressed with those kids!
